Eight & Bob Albert Fouquet created essences for his own personal use with help from Philippe, the family butler. In 1937 on the Côte d’Azur, Albert met John F. Kennedy, who fell in love with Albert’s original essence and brought it back to the States. Enjoyed by Hollywood stars and American social elite, Eight & Bob’s success was tempered by Albert’s sudden death in spring of 1939. Philippe continued until the start of World War II. Decades later Philippe’s family recovered the formula, along with the carefully crafted production process of Eight & Bob. Still one of the world’s most popular colognes, preferred by all elegant men.
